Renesas' RV1S9x60A photocouplers are designed to stay current with today's industrial equipment trend toward smaller footprints and greater energy conservation to address environmental issues and save costs. The temperature-rise that results from a high-density PCB layout and the noise generated due to high-speed power devices creates problems for system designers. Renesas' RV1S9x60A photocouplers solve these problems to withstand harsh operating environments with three key features: low threshold input current (IFHL), high operational temperature, and high noise-tolerance to protect microcontrollers and other logic circuits from high-voltage transients when the photocoupler transfers high-speed input signals.

The photocouplers have a broad variety of applications in noisy industrial environments, including general power inverters (DC to AC), AC servo motor control, PLCs, and robot arm controllers. Other applications include solar and wind input power conditioners, and battery management for energy storage, and charging systems. The RV1S9x60A is the industry's first product in the less than IFHL 2 mA/2.2 mA photocouplers which has the fastest switching speed (tPHL/LH = 60 ns) and the strongest noise-tolerant (CMR 50 kV/µs).
