MC™ 8-bit MCUs from Zilog are designed to accommodate more complex and differentiating features that make Z8 Encore! MCUs distinctive from other MCUs. Distinguishing features of the Z8 Encore! MCU product family include 8-channel 2.5µs A/D converter that allows accurate current sampling, soft start feature and advanced analog motor control features to keep the system's audible noise low, op-amp with external gain settings for current amplification and phase current reconstruction, and comparator with programmable shutdown for over-current protection. The Z8 Encore! MC™ motor control family is supported by acomprehensive development kit that contains ZiLOG's ZDS II IDE with afull ANSI C compiler.  Applications that utilize Z8 Encore! MCUs include washing machines, fridges, freezers, pumps, HVAC, conveyor belts, fans/blowers, and medical equipment.
