The ADS1018 is a precision, low-power, 12-bit, noise-free, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that provides all features necessary to measure the most common sensor signals in an ultrasmall, leadless, X2QFN-10 or VSSOP-10 package. The ADS1018 integrates a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), voltage reference, oscillator and high-accuracy temperature sensor. These features, along with a wide power-supply range from 2 V to 5.5 V, make the ADS1018 ideally suited for power- and space-constrained, sensor-measurement applications.
***AS INTRUMENTS
The ADS1018 performs conversions at data rates up to 3300 samples per second (SPS). The PGA offers input ranges from ±256 mV to ±6.144 V, allowing both large and small signals to be measured with high resolution. An input multiplexer (mux) allows measurement of two differential or four single-ended inputs. The high-accuracy temperature sensor is used for system-level temperature monitoring, or cold-junction compensation for thermocouples.

The ADS1018 operates either in continuous-conversion mode, or in a single-shot mode that automatically powers down after a conversion. Single-shot mode significantly reduces current consumption during idle periods. Data are transferred through a serial peripheral interface (SPI™).

ADS1018 12-bit ADC and Temp Sensor
OMO Electronic ADS1018 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and temperature sensor is designed with precision, power, and ease of implementation in mind. TI ADS1018 features an integrated voltage reference and oscillator. An SPI-compatible serial interface transfers data. This TI ADC operates from a single power supply ranging from 2.0V to 5.5V. It can perform conversions at rates up to 3300 samples per second. A programmable gain amplifier is integrated in ADS1018 that offers input ranges from as low as ±256mV up to the supply rails, allowing both large and small signals to be measured with high resolution. ADS1018 also features an input multiplexer that provides two differential or four single-ended inputs. ADS1018 can also function as a high-accuracy temperature sensor.
