Chip Quik’s line of surface mount discrete component jumper adapters (DC*J-10X) allow easy use of surface mount package sizes including 01005, 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, 1411, 1813, 2010, 2220, 2413, 2512, 2917, and 2924. Both the 01005 and 0201 parts fit onto the 0402 discrete adapter size, so searching for DC0402J-10X will provide the correct match if the user is working with tiny 01005 and 0201 components. These adapters breakout small surface mount chip components to a 0.1” pitch through-hole pinout that fits into all standard solderless and solder-in breadboards.

Chip Quik’s DC*J-10X adapter packs each come with ten adapters, unassembled with pins included. The discrete adapters come unassembled, so the user can solder on the surface mount chip first with the printed circuit board (PCB) portion of the adapter sitting flat on their workbench. Once the surface mount chip is soldered on, the right-angle through-hole pins can be easily soldered into the adapter, and then the adapter can be plugged and unplugged from all standard 0.1” pitch breadboards many times. The gold-plated through-hole pins are rated for a high number of insertion cycles. Or you can use them to build a permanent circuit by soldering them into a solder-in breadboard or a through-hole motherboard.
