Raspberry Pi Zero W Project Kits

Pimoroni has developed an assortment of kits to leverage the newest board from the Raspberry Pi foundation. Developed with novice users in mind, these attractive project kits quickly showcase the capabilities of the Raspberry Pi Zero W, a small low cost 1 GHz single board Linux computer with onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1, while still providing opportunities for additional project customization.

Pirate Radio Kit
An internet radio kit with a retro acrylic enclosure, the Pirate Radio uses Pimoroni’s new pHAT BEAT DAC and stereo amp to drive a single speaker. The two rows of eight APA102 RGB LEDs make the perfect VU meter, and there are six buttons along the edges to control the audio.

Scroll Bot
Perfect for scrolling news, weather, or Twitter feeds, the Scroll Bot uses the new Scroll pHAT HD board, a dense matrix of 17 x 7 (119 total) bright white LEDs. Each pixel's brightness can be controlled individually so it is possible to create stunning animations or anti-aliased text. The LED matrix sits behind the Scroll Bot's mouth, and the frosted orange acrylic diffuses the LEDs beautifully.

OctoCam
Ideal for time lapse recordings or compact CCTV systems, the OctoCam uses a neat little Pi Zero camera with the same 5 MP sensor as the original Pi camera, and works out of the box the same as the official Pi cameras. The cable and circuitry is all built-in, so connecting it is as simple as plugging in the ribbon cable to the connector on the Pi Zero W.

Mood Light
Designed with the aesthetics to mimic a classic pendant lamp the Mood Light uses Pimoroni’s popular Unicorn pHAT board, which has 32 programmable RGB NeoPixel LEDs providing a veritable rainbow full of color possibilities. The stand cleverly mounts the Pi Zero W and Unicorn pHAT at just the right angle to cast the light through the pendant light cutout and diffuse it beautifully.

Pi Zero W Starter Kit
A basic starter kit which includes a Pi Zero W with an SD card pre-loaded with the NOOBS operating system, a colorful Pibow Zero W case, and a Blinkt! multicolor LED strip to get users started with coding in Python and developing unique projects.
